Born from a desire to know God, not simply know about Him.
Fireside Faith grew from our longing to slow down, draw near to Jesus and make space to listen. Like Mary sitting at His feet, we want to give Him our attention—and invite others to join us.
Through the Bible, prayer, worship and stories of everyday faith, we’ll share an unhurried few days together, with good food, fireside conversations and room to breathe.
You don’t need to arrive with everything worked out. Just come as you are.

Time to Sit at His feet
Life gets full.
Sometimes life gets so busy that we lose the space to simply be with God.
“Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest.” Mark 6:31
Fireside Faith creates space to step out of ordinary routines, make room for God, build genuine friendships and encourage one another through real stories of faith.
We walk together, eat together, worship together, listen to God — leave room for conversation, rest and the unexpected.

We believe there is something powerful about hearing how God is at work in another person’s life.
So around the fire, we’ll make space for a few people to share honestly about faith as it really is.
The prayers that were answered, the seasons of waiting, the wrong turns, the new beginnings, the struggles, the hope and the things God is still working out.
Some stories will have extraordinary endings.
Some will still be unfolding.
All of them can encourage us to notice God’s goodness in our own lives.
Some stories will be shared. Others may be carried quietly. There is no pressure to speak — only an invitation to listen, reflect and be encouraged.
Who is Fireside Faith for?
Fireside Faith is for people at all sorts of places in their journey of faith.
You may be committed and rooted in church life, part of a Christian community, somewhere around the edges, between churches, or simply longing for a little space with God and new friendships with other Christians.
You may arrive feeling full of faith, tired, curious, hopeful, unsettled — or a mixture of all of those.
All you need is a willingness to come away, make space for God and share a few days with others doing the same.
Come alone, come with a friend, or come as a couple.
Come as you are.
The Five Tent Pegs of Fireside Faith

These are the simple anchors that give Fireside Faith its shape.
We’ll open the Bible, make space to pray and listen, worship together, expect to encounter God, and encourage one another.
Together, they create a gentle rhythm for the retreat — with space for meals, walks, conversation, laughter, silence, friendship and rest.
For three nights, we’ll make our home at Melmerby Hall and Stag Cottage in Cumbria.
A 5-star Gold Award country house set in 25 acres of private gardens and woodland, with beautiful shared spaces, real fires, ensuite bedrooms and plenty of room to walk, talk, read, rest or simply be.
There’ll be great food, long-table meals, time outdoors and space to settle in properly.
The Founding Fireside Faith Retreat

We’ll be there to welcome you, take care of the details and help the retreat flow naturally.
We’ll be part of it too — sharing the walks, meals, worship and conversations with everyone who comes. Expectant for God to move among us.

£495 per person
Based on sharing an ensuite room. If you would prefer a private room, please contact us before booking so we can discuss what’s available.
£100 reserves your place.
Places are limited so there’s time for real conversation, shared stories and getting to know one another. We encourage you to reserve early if you’d like to join us.
If we have to cancel the retreat, all payments you have made to Fireside Faith will be refunded in full.

Can I come on my own?
Absolutely. Fireside Faith is designed to be easy to come to alone, with a friend or as a couple.
Rooms arranged with care
The £495 price is based on two people sharing an ensuite bedroom. We’ll be in touch after booking to discuss your preferences and confirm room arrangements.
If you would prefer a private room, please contact us before booking so we can discuss what’s available.
What will the days be like?
There’ll be a gentle rhythm of Scripture, prayer, worship, Fireside Encouragements, meals, local walks, games, conversation and time to rest. There’ll also be plenty of space to choose how much you join in with.
What about food and dietary requirements?
All meals and refreshments are included. We’ll ask about dietary requirements before the retreat and work with the caterer to accommodate them wherever possible.
How do I get there?
You can drive directly to Melmerby Hall. We’ll also arrange collection from Penrith station at set times for anyone travelling by train.
What if I book and the retreat is cancelled?
If we cancel the retreat, all payments you’ve made to Fireside Faith will be refunded in full.
